18/11/16 Lesson Analysis

On 18/11/16 we had an all day rehearsal for We Will Rock You, in which our aim was to get further into blocking the show and getting more familiar with the different scenes and the show in general. I think that this went well because we were able to work professionally using focus to make sure that we blocked as much of the show as we could that day, and were able to discuss with each other throughout the day how we could approach things in the script. For example in 'It's A Kind Of Magic' I suggested Killer Queen walking down the stage blocks to join the ensemble to show the power and manipulation in her character, and to draw attention to that part of the stage, and for Khashoggi to stay at the top as if he was proud, therefore everyone would have a purpose in the scene and the stage was used effectively.

I feel that as the rehearsal continued, the group started to loose focus and energy levels became low and this had an impact on everyones motivation to carry on with the rehearsal, so we all had to make sure that we were all encouraging each other and working as a team to make sure everyone was taking part, and this worked effectively because we were able to finish act 1 by the end of the rehearsal, and we were all clear on what we were all doing.

I think that overall this rehearsal was effective because we were able to make the show more effective because we are all aware of each other on stage to make the performance look tidier. To improve I am going to make sure that I don't let my energy levels effect other people in a negative way, for example making sure I'm aware that if I have low energy and motivation, it'll effect other people in the ensemble as well.
